Your Online Platform
Most of our online sessions take place via Zoom or Skype but there is the possibility to use other IT solutions, platforms or apps.
If you have never taken an online lesson before, you may be curious and apprehensive about what online learning is like!
Before your lessons start, you will take an evaluation so that we know your exact starting level and we will also discuss your objectives for the course. Your online teacher will have all of your information so that you can start straight away with lessons that are tailor-made for you!

However, if at any point in the course you feel like you would like to change something in the course, then just let your teacher know. You may want to do more speaking, more listening, be pushed more, take things more slowly….please don’t hesitate to say! You will also be given a mid-course feedback questionnaire so that you get the opportunity to tell us about your impressions of your course.
If your teacher would like you to have any documents or materials to hand for your lesson, he/she will email these to you to download and/or print before your lesson. They will also use the chat feature during your lesson to share vocabulary, grammar or other resources. It is good to have a dictionary close to hand (either a traditional paper dictionary or an online dictionary, whichever you prefer!).
In advance of your course, we will determine the platform that will be used and you will either receive a Zoom link for the meeting or we will ask you to provide us with your Skype ID.On the day of your lesson, your teacher will call you at the arranged time or you will both click on the Zoom link provided via email.
It is best to find a quiet space for your session where there is limited background noise and where you are unlikely to get interrupted. This will help you to concentrate and not get distracted during your lesson.
Our teachers are all very used to teaching online, they are qualified language trainers and have much experience in teaching on Zoom and Skype, so this isn’t new to them. Our students are usually pleasantly surprised about their online sessions; how much they enjoy them and how effective they are and this is a credit to our teaching team.
